However, no more than one point of use at a time is recommended. Recommended for incoming cold water temperature above 50°F, however it can take lower incoming temperatures down to 40°F by reducing water flowrate (control knob can be adjusted to less water flow). The Excel Low Pressure Startup unit is outfitted with a magnetic water flow sensor , that allows the unit to work at low water pressure, especially those found in rural areas , RV's and Boats. All other tankless gas water heaters rely on the outdated rubber diaphragm scheme , that pushes a pin that actuates a microswitch. Pressures of the order of 30 psi are needed to move the rubber diaphragm on other older and cheaper units.
